How the Colosseum pays
Where the money comes from, how much of it can drop, and how it reaches you. In plain language.
01Where the fees come from
The coin trades on pump.fun. pump.fun charges a small creator fee on every trade, and the coin is set up so that fee is paid to the Imperial Treasury wallet, a public Solana address.
The fees arrive in SOL. Turning SOL into USDC for payouts is done by hand by the project, through Jupiter, and every swap is visible on chain.
The treasury balance on the home page is read live from that wallet. Nothing on it is typed in by hand.
02How drops are budgeted
The arena drops two kinds of coin.
- Denarii are score. They fall all the time, count toward your rank and buy cosmetics later. They have no cash value.
- Denarius drops are backed by the treasury: Bronze $0.10, Silver $1, Gold $5, Imperial $25.
Your game never decides a Denarius drop. When a run ends, the server rolls drops for it from a daily budget, which is a fixed share of the live treasury balance, weighted by your score and the wave you reached. Only then does the game show the coin falling. So the arena never shows a coin the treasury cannot pay.
03The two payout rails
You choose the rail each time you claim. USDC is always offered first because it works everywhere.
USDC on Solana
- Needs a Solana wallet address (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack or any other).
- Works worldwide.
- Minimum claim $1, because every transfer costs network fees.
- Every send has an on-chain receipt you can open on Solscan.
X Money
- US only, on both ends.
- You must have X Money, or claim it, in the X app.
- Opt-in: you ask for it on the claim page. Nothing is ever pushed to a handle that did not ask.
- The project sends it by hand from its own X Money account; X has no payment API.
- If a send is not claimed in the X app it returns to the sender after about 14 days. You can claim again.
04Claiming
- Sign in. Sign in with X, or connect a Solana wallet and type your handle (shown as "unverified"). Guests can play, but drops need an account.
- Play. When a run ends the server decides any drops and records them. Before the treasury is funded they are kept as pending: recorded, not yet money. While a day's budget is smaller than one Bronze coin, nothing drops at all.
- Open the claim page. It shows what is ready to claim, what is pending and every drop you have found.
- Pick a rail. USDC: paste a Solana wallet (wallet sign-ins claim to the wallet they signed with). X Money: needs Sign in with X, and you tick that you have X Money in the X app (US only).
- Follow the claim. It moves from queued to approved to sent to confirmed, and the receipt link appears on the claim page and in the public Rewards sent feed.
Until the treasury is funded, the claim page shows the server's answer as it is: rewards open when the treasury is funded.
05Caps and limits
Caps exist so a busy day can never drain the treasury.
Every claim goes through a queue: queued, then approved by a person, then sent, then confirmed. The server never holds a key; payouts are signed by the project from its own wallet or X app.
06Duels and the fairness rule
In a duel you challenge someone by their X handle. Both of you play the Trial of Kekius, a fixed three-minute run.
The fairness rule: both fighters get the same seed. Same enemies, same spawn times, same upgrade offers, same starting weapon. Which upgrades you pick is up to you, so the result comes down to skill. The server can replay your inputs on the same seed to check the score.
The public arena stays random; only duels use a shared seed.
The challenge is a post you send from your own account. The site never posts for you.
07What opens when
- The arena is open now. Runs count toward your rank.
- Denarius rewards open when the treasury is funded.
- Honour duels come first: same seed, same Trial, bragging rights.
- Duel stakes open later, after rewards are running. When they do, both players deposit the stake before the Trial unlocks.
08Who made this
The frog legionary, the arena and every sprite are original work made for this game. The name nods to a moment in internet history.
KEKIUS MAXIMUS: THE COLOSSEUM is not affiliated with X, X Money, pump.fun, or anyone named in that story, and none of them endorse it.
